
The Inter-Alpine Energy & Environment Days (Interalpine Energie- & Umwelttage) in Mals serve as a central gathering point for experts, decision-makers, and those interested in energy and environmental topics across the Alpine region. In its seventh iteration in 2025, the conference focuses on hydropower and its challenges, showcasing cutting-edge practices, innovative solutions, and robust networking opportunities.
It is more than just a technical conference – it is a industry meeting in a welcoming, familiar atmosphere, offering plenty of space for intensive exchange among professionals active both internationally and regionally.
The program covers the theme “Hydropower – current & future challenges”, with emphasis on:
- construction & operations: technical achievements in building and managing hydropower infrastructure
- digitalization: the transition to smarter, data-driven hydropower systems
- economy & ecology: merging sustainability with economic efficiency
- pumped-storage plants: exploring renewed relevance of these purposed energy solutions
- final panel: a discussion titled “blackout – is it a real threat?”
